The entertainment doesn't stop with Sylvia & the Fjordsong band and the Treasure Tones : the ever popular free outdoor entertainment at the Nordicfest festival grounds will provide a line-up of entertaining and toe-tapping performances beginning Friday afternoon and extending through Sunday mid-afternoon.

The 21st annual International Fjord Horse Show, organized by the Pacific Northwest Fjord Association will be held on Saturday and Sunday September 9-10 at 12 noon and 1 p.m. respectively.. Bridal and reining events will be scheduled on Friday.

The Nordicfest bunad procession, a showcase of the various costumes from Scandinavia kicks off the festival at 12:30 pm Friday on Mineral Avenue. It ends at the outdoor entertainment band shell, where the various food booths are set up for an early afternoon lunch.

The Nordicfest craft show is one of the largest in the Northwest and attracts quality craftsmen along with thousands of visitors looking for something special.

If that's not enough, try your hand at Scandinavian rock throwing. Contestants will be given the opportunity to heave a 100-pound boulder, a 75-pounder, or a 50-pounder for the women.

The Nordicfest parade, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8th, is one of the longest and most colorful processions to hit a small town in the West. Participants come from as many as six states and two Canadian provinces. The parade is sponsored annually by Lincoln County Credit Union.

And if you want more color, try the Kootenai Valley Quilt Guild's annual show featuring more than 100 quilts from local craftspeople. The quilt show runs Friday through Sunday of Nordicfest.

Libby's own Kootenai Karacters are brewing their own concoction of hilarity with the locally written melodrama. The melodrama will take the stage at 7:00 pm Friday, September 7th and Saturday, September 8th.
